I paid for a three year subscription and have used on my phone and ipad no problem for a year. then started not being able to connect on my computer. I let ie sit awhile. tried uninstalling and re downloading off and on – pretty much gave up. Last ditch effort – chat to Stephen who is amazing !!! got me the right link to download in the country i am in. Was very patient – walked me through every step and i am now watching my NFL game!! I am soooooo happy !! Thank you!

Tom at Nord VPN helped me to fix a problem with Nord not opening. Please note that this was likely due to some compatibility issues NOT RELATED TO NORD. With changes and upgrades associated with working from home, adjustments must inevitably be made.

The good news is that Nord is always evolving and updating their products and services, and their team is ALWAYS there to help. I have used Nord VPN for more than two years and feel much more secure handling my client’s and my data, with Nord than without it or with using other services.

I went thru 5 VPNS paying a month at a time and never really was sure they were the ones for me. I tried NordVPN I immediately bought the 3-year subscription. They have 24/7 support who are all great. I would highly recommend it. I have no intentions on shopping around when my 3 years is up. Speed is good too, it could match whatever I could throw at it at home I think 423 mbps is the fastest my spectrum goes and it ran the same speed. I ran a speedtest on a 10gbps fiber line in a data center and I think I still got 5,300 mbps but I might have also been breaking speedtest.

After about 5 hours of troubleshooting an issue on my desktop with the help of NordVPN, over a period of approx. 2 weeks, I finally was able to have internet access while connected to their servers. In the middle of this issue, I asked for a refund as I didn’t want to spend hours of my valuable time fixing a product I didn’t anticipate needing to be fixed. They denied it, stating that I had passed beyond the 30-day refund policy window (the one that’s basically required by law). So that kind of sucked. Finally, that issue was fixed but today I can’t even use it as I originally intended, since most services recognize their servers and deny me access. Don’t recommend and won’t be renewing.

I’ve used NordVPN for the past 3 years. A lot has changed since. They’ve improved the app, added more protocols… but they’ve also shorten the release cycle resulting in buggy or unusable apps for days until updated.

It used to be amazing. 3 years later: speed is still great, they have tons of servers available. The main issue is Netflix: NordVPN does not work with Netflix. There’s not a single evening where I can sit on my sofa and just watch a show from start to finish. The show will be interrupted by a Netflix error message. Changing server helps but within the hour you’ll get the same message again. I wrote to the Nord support and their answer was just basic (pointless) troubleshooting.

Also: you’ll get captcha everywhere which is REALLY annoying.

I’m not going to renew, unless they offer me 3 years for £50. That’s how much it’s worth for me now.

I requested a refund for my 2 year payment within 40 minutes of purchase. the second person i was directed to during my live customer service chat was dwayne. he was polite, direct, and frankly exactly the personality i needed to speak with for my misinformed ( and self-blamed lack of research ) purchase of a nordvpn account. although i am no longer a client, my short interaction with dwayne is the type of direct customer contact that leaves a good mark on the company. although my specific requirement for vpn eliminates nordvpn from my patronage, it will be the first place i go to for any other future vpn account that is applicable to my needs because of the expedient and exceptional customer service i was provided with. thanks dwayne!

Confusing cancellation w/ no refunds.
Pressed a button to cancel automatic payments with understanding that this would cancel the current subscription. Turns out you need to contact them directly to cancel your subscription within the 30-day period. This was not made clear and they now refuse to refund and cancel my current (3-year) subscription as the 30-day period has passed. A lot of money wasted because of their deceptive tactics.

The customer support is TOTALLY unhelpful. They require extensive information just to update your email, and they can’t make exceptions. I thought I had encountered poor service in the past, but Nord VPN really takes the cake. So in the twenty-first century, when emails are regularly compromised, you can’t easily change yours (it’s nearly impossible). STAY AWAY.

First big installation problems and then after 1 month it is not usable anymore because it is too slowly. Customer care is very bad… For sure money back is not, even after one day… You pay on your risk. I have paid for 2 years in advance. And I complained that I could not use it, because I could not install it so that it worked. After one week I got a reply that was so meaningless. In the meantime I had reconfigured Windows 10 and the NordVpn so it worked… And then it worked for 1 month… and now it is too slowly, that I can’t use it. And this is cheating… You pay first, after one month NordVpn gives you a so slowly speed, so that you can’t use it anymore!

I had trouble using a specific streaming service with NordVPN. Whenever I contacted the customer service I got the same spiel, “We are aware of the problem and working towards solving it.” However, they couldn’t give any estimate on when the problem might be solved. When I finally got fed up enough to cancel the service, the admitted that it’s impossible to use that specific streaming service with their VPN. And conveniently, the refund window had closed, so I lost all my money. And to top it off, the customer service agent was giving me attitude. I wouldn’t use NordVPN again even if they offered their product for free.

Well I was having issues with my buffering. I got an updated app this week it was giving me issues😕. I tried to fix it myself obviously that didn’t go to well. So I contacted Nord. I was getting help from an agent then I got transferred to Krystal. Trust me she was very informative. She did a great job👍. Took awhile I’m not good as far as computer savvy goes. Krystal😇 was great throughout the process. Took longer cause I wasn’t familiar how DNS works🤔. I’m very happy with Nord customer service😃!! You guys are the best. I’m glad I subscribe with Nord. Have used NordVPN for several years and love it especially when traveling and staying at hotels with open WiFi. Has many good features such as suspending when needed and the selection of different nodes. I do find that sometimes it has problems with Windows 10, but more MS problems and not NordVPN.

Customer service is terrible. they have a few fixes and that is it. wait time bad. During zoom, voices cut in and out and freeze regularly. It causes dropped internet calls and even any tech support with companies!!!! for me to zoom or any meeting type events and anything voice I have to remember to disconnect Nord. If I forget the above always occurs. This is trouble i’ve had from the beginning with Nordvpn. Their management was adamant that there is absolutely no refund after 30 days refund and I had no satisfaction from the many hours I spent with their customer support. Plus they have no telephone support, only text chat. If the tech couldn’t fix the situation he would put me of to another tech which meant I was put back into the last in the queue again!

I contacted NordVPN via Live chat today. I was connected with a LEO. He was very helpful in every way. I explained to him that I tried purchasing twice before but the payment was declined and reversed both times. Do not know the reason because I called the bank and I have sufficient funds and nothing was being blocked. When I explained that he explained to me that it can be getting flagged as fraudulent. He recommended using an email that is close to my name to help that issue. I notified him that my email is already as close to my name as it can possibly be. When I notified him of that and he double checked my email, he then notified me that he will be creating a ticket and in a few days my email should be whitelisted and when it is to make the purchase again. I am actually really surprised at how well this experience went. I work in the IT field myself doing level 1/ level 2 support and I was blown away at how helpful this man was.

Everything was good, but the only disadvantage was that sometimes DNS came up in my country, Japan, in the ipleak test, and the anonymity was revealed.
In the end, this part could not be solved, and it was an opportunity to change to Express VPN and VPN Unlimited
Exclude this part, still highly recommended VPN

However, contrary to everyone’s assessment that it was difficult to get a refund, in my case, the refund went well due to the dns problem.

Terrible service and wont give refunds!
Bought this for my daughter to use when she travels, called them up to ask how good it is etc and they gave me al the sales chat….two months in and my daughter just can’t use it without it being detected and constantly interrupting her programmes so she gave up.
I had a ‘live chat’ with Sandra who was as helpful as she could be but instead directly addressing my request to cancel she kept asking me questions. Eventually go to cancelling it for me but as I had take out a two year subscription they wont refund me a penny. She said it would not renew automatically but I somehow am sceptical about that…will call credit card company to see if they can help?? Steer clear of Nord, their sales chat and service is not what they promise!

I have received the promised email from Alberto of Nord, they have been excellent and given me a refund for the months I did not use and will cancel the remaining contract. It’s a shame the customer services assistant did not do this when I had a ‘live chat’, but I am grateful to Alberto for his input.

I signed up to NordVPN today, was told a link would be sent to my email address to activate my account which I never received, which means I couldn’t log in. I managed to log in by clicking on forgot password (took 3 goes before I actually received a link to reset the password) only to be told that my subscription as expired!!

It seems I do not have a subscription even though I clicked on direct debit and did every thing I needed to sign up, also I’ve been charged more than I expected because of VAT which wasn’t mentioned until after I choose my 12 month subscription.

I would like to cancel my account but there doesn’t seem to be a way to do this via the website.

**EDIT** To Nordvpn, maybe you should state on the website how long it takes before the account is activated, I also appear to be logged into the USA website when I need the UK site, I still want my account deleted and the direct debit cancelled without contact customer support.

Signed up for 3 years and was initially very impressed. But, their constant nag screen urging me to change my password is very, very irritating. They should provide the option to turn this off, it is a complete distraction.

If I hadn’t already signed up for 3 years I would have removed and signed up with someone else.

They may think they are being clever, but they are not, they are alienating their customers. Sort it out.

I paid for 3 years upfront because I wanted a reliable SOCKS5 proxy service. Three months later the service has been removed with no notice, inadequate explanation and no likelihood of it coming back! This is what they say: “At the moment our SOCKS5 protocol is receiving an optimization rework. While this rework is being performed, the majority of servers have this protocol shut down until completion of the rework. It is also not a certainty that it will be available again …”
and despite them saying there are a handful of SOCKS servers remaining – none of them actually work.

For a while I was having trouble with slower speeds while using NordVPN on windows 10(was due to my settings) without the VPN active i was sitting around 800mbps and with it on I was not seeing anything higher than 30mbps. I have been using the product for just under 3 years with amazing results. After trying to figure it out myself with no luck I used the live chat service. I was greeted by Simon within about 1 minute. This is probably my 4th time using the live chat service and they are always extremely quick to respond and very friendly and helpful every time. Simon had me run a few tests and try a few different settings. Simon very quickly resolved my issues and I am seeing speeds closer to 400mbps while connected to the VPN. Simon made contacting customer server a pleasurable experience, as always with NordVPN and I am extremely satisfied with the results. I cannot recommend NordVPN enough. The product is incredible and the customer service and just amazing in every way!

I have not had a satisfactory experience with NordVPN.

I have the program installed on two devices, both running Windows 10 Pro. From the first time I installed NordVPN either one device or the other would connect but then disconnect the internet within minutes, or not connect at all.

I have spent countless hours going through various online procedures and using Live Chat to speak to NordVPN customer service to try to sort the problems. Once I have eventually got one device to connect and stay connected so the other would not. Then the first device would not connect, and so on, and on.

As I write one device which would not connect for two weeks now does after spending 2 hours on Live Chat to NordVPN. For four days both devices would connect and stay connected for the first time ever. Then this evening the other device has stopped connecting again.

Quite simply, for me, using NordVPN is just not worth the time and effort to simply get the program to do what it is supposed to do. I am now out of time to claim my money back so it has proved to be an expensive purchase mistake.

I’ve been using NordVPN for a while, their “70% off ends in 1 day” is a complete scam, but the actual product is amazing, sleek and pretty app design, great customer support, many servers, one problem I did encounter is that you often have to try 5-10 different servers to find one that hasn’t had it’s IP flagged as a VPN on Netflix and Prime Video. I would like the team to add a feature to pass traffic from specific apps through the VPN and let everything else pass through without, and/or letting specific apps bypass the VPN and having everything else pass through the tunnel. I bought this VPN for torrenting mainly, but it’s utterly useless for that, download speeds are good but upload speeds are pretty terrible… That could do with some improvement. Overall a solid VPN service that I would recommend. Outbeats all competition with an attractive price.

Been using Nord for 4 years, and just wanted to leave a positive review before renewing again. My only small suggestion would be to make the Android TV app a bit easier to use. You have to do a search for a server numner instead of them being available to select.. It would also be great if you can make iPlayer work on Nvidia Shield (it works on Firestick, but not Shield).

Signed up for 3 years after reading about a 90% refund promotion via one of those shopping cashback sites…which seemed to good to be true….it was!

Provided clear evidence of my purchase but, after 3 months of waiting, the cashback claim was rejected.

“We have investigated and found that the merchant has deemed xxxx ineligible to earn commissions on this transaction which results in us being unable to pass the cashback along to you.”

Looks like a blatant trap to lure new customers with the false promise of a large refund.

You better be sure that you’re willing to stick with them, because they DO NOT give refunds (full or partial), no matter what the reason. If you’re outside the refund window, your money is gone. No exceptions.

There are better VPN providers out there with better customer service and a more lenient return policy. Once they got big, they seem to only care about money.

I’ve been a customer for three years at Nord. My experience is very mixed and there’s a lot of room for improvement which is why today I’ve made the decision not to renew my subscriptions with them.

I use VPNs for business use. At one point I had twenty VPNs with dedicated IP addresses at a cost of around £120 per year per account so I’ve been paying them a lot of money.

I’ve never been offered a discount for either my repeat custom or a bulk discount for having so many subs with them. I’ve spent the morning speaking to other VPN companies and almost all of them have offered me a discount for taking out multiple subs.

But the cost isn’t the issue which made me look elsewhere.

My dedicated IP vpns ran out a few days ago. Nord didn’t email me once to tell me that they were expiring. Upon expiration instead of halting access, they’ve put the security of my business at risk by shoving every subscription into the shared IP pool so when I logged in as usual the server reroutes me into the shared pool because I didn’t know my dedicated IP sub was finished. For a company who markets their product as being big on privacy I find this astonishing that they’d do that. If I hadn’t had the luck to check a section on one of my spreadsheets that said the vpns expired in August I’d have been facing a five figure loss of £.

Couple this with the fact that it’s not a very user friendly process taking out a dedicated IP vpn. You have to create two accounts, then message them then wait about 48-72 hours before you have an IP assigned to you. Everything just seems unneccesarily difficult. Other sites I’ve been on this morning have you up and running within five mins of you paying them.

Time to move on.

It’s not all bad. Live chat is great whenever I have had a tech problem.
Connectivity is almost always very good there’s rarely any server outages.
Built in things like the kill switch is effective.

I travel a lot and i have noticed tons of issues with nordvpn.

My connections are slow, nord says its connected but is blocking internet traffic, connecting and disconnecting frequently.

I use Nord on my iphone, macbook, windows 10 desktop, smart tv and amazon tv.

On my TV netflix is pixelated when nord is on, and is crisp when nord is off.

I do not recommend.

I’ve been with NordVPN a little over 3 months now, currently on their 1-year subscription. I switched to NordVPN from PrivateInternetAccess (PIA) and I was with them for around 3 years.

Ever since PIA was taken over by another company, they have driven it into the ground and it shows. That’s a whole other review in of itself and of course something I won’t go into here, but this is the reason I was looking for a new VPN provider.

The most important thing to me when I look at a VPN provider is anonymity and privacy. If a provider is storing your name, your address, your payment details, your browsing history etc then do they really have your best interests in mind? Or are they collecting your data to sell it onto third-parties?

This is something NordVPN takes seriously. Don’t take my word for it. Don’t take NordVPN’s word for it. Once you are subscribed member, you are given access to the full audit that was taken against NordVPN. This means that NordVPN allowed another company to scrutinise all of it’s procedures and protocols to prove that they aren’t storing anything more than what they need to be able to provide a proper VPN service.

The full audit is available in black and white for any members of the service. The auditing company concludes that NordVPN doesn’t store sensitive information such as, but not limited to; browsing history, IP connections, connection length, locations etc.

This is what is important to me, and why I switched to NordVPN. I started off on a 7-day trial through their Android app on the play-store, then switched to a monthly subscription and then shortly after I was given a substantial discount code for their yearly plan; similar to what I would be paying for PIA’s yearly plan. It was a no brainer for me.

The service it noticeably better compared to other VPN’s that I have tried. The interface is very sleek and simple. You don’t need to know much about how a VPN works to be able to connect to their VPN. All you need to do is click the connect button and you’re on.

They also offer some speciality features to all users as standard such as a Dedicated IP, double VPN, TorVPN and P2P. There’s also an endless amount of servers in a lot of different countries that you can connect to.

Whenever you connect to a VPN, your internet connection will always be different since your traffic is being routed through the VPN aswell. There’s no way of getting around that. The speed of NordVPN’s servers are generally okay, but for someone like me who is connected to it throughout the entire day, you can notice when it is slugging. No amount of convincing could convince me otherwise either, since it was a similar issues I had with PIA.

The issue can often be rectified by switching to a different server (which again is a few click job) but it can go south aswell and actually freeze your internet altogether.

In the interface of the VPN, it also allows you to toggle an option to block malicious ads/websites. A really useful feature, but it’s often over-sensitive and I find myself having to turn it off a lot when playing games or such. The VPN thinks an online game I’m playing is malicious when it isn’t.

Generally speaking, I’ve not had too many issues but 3 months still isn’t really long enough to give a proper review for a VPN service. So far my expectations have been exceeded even though there are still some issues needing ironed out.

They continually remove servers, namely SOCKS5 servers. First Australia went and then yesterday New Zealand. Today, the closest server seems to manage less than half the speed I was on.

They claim it’s for maintenance but also suggest they may never come back. How is anyone supposed to work with these vague references and unreliability?

When I bought a 3 year plan, there were hundreds of SOCKS5 servers. Just over a year later, there aren’t any in my country or any surrounding countries. If they can’t guarantee that these servers will come back, the service is utterly useless to me.

Edit: All they have replied with below is the same automated message they gave me via support. Today I am using their HK SOCKS5 server and getting a blistering 100kbs – 1MBs. Do not use this VPN if you need SOCKS5. Even if the server is in your region now, it’s not guaranteed to stay there.

I’m writing this review regarding the service I’ve had and the customer service I’ve been provided.

I’ve had other previous companies that provide Socks5 servers and although I paid a little bit more, I NEVER had to change servers in order to find one that worked with them. With NordVPN, I’ve had to do that CONSTANTLY. To make things even worse, I’ve been watching the number of Socks5 servers dwindle from hundreds from many countries, to less than 70 in total now and almost all from the US. I’ve spoken with their customer service about this and they have given me the generic answer regarding optimizing their network with no ETA on completion. I also believe to be a lie after reading many things throughout the internet. They also do not publish anything on their site regarding this obvious issue.

As of lately, the customer service has gotten worse as well. The latest person I spoke with was a bit rude about asking for a service extension due to all of the issues I’m having with not finding a server that works. Instead of simply giving me an extension for all of the issues I have with their servers, they just plain said no. I wasn’t asking for a refund, all I was asking for was a small extension. This is due to the amount of time and energy I’ve had to spend trying to get their services to work. This is unacceptable and they do not care about loosing customers.

Do yourself a favor and look past the cheap cost. They have not been worth my time and if they don’t fix the issues quick enough, I’ll find a better service.

Unless there is a good possibility that I will benefit from your investigation, I’m not going to post my e-mail address for the world to see. From the customer service I have received, I can’t see I would be provided anything for my time and energy.

Man, there I was tryna be a smart-ass and thinking Amazon/Netflix were smartening up and flagging Nord Server IP’s overtime. Got super fed up one day and hit up the chat.

Absolutely shocking service. I was looking for a dedicated IP for my VPN so I can connect to some of my servers, and the first step was signing up which was stupidly complicated so I went onto the live chat and told that I would have to pay for two VPN accounts and ON TOP of that order an annual subscription fo $60 for the IP. I understand the cost of the IP but having to pay for two accounts just seems to me to be a ripoff.

One small criticism is the structure of their website and how open they are to a chargeback. So I came in Contact with Darian. I could tell he was very professional and genuine who was a very well knowledgeable in regards to your product. He explained that your charges are quarterly and what not, considering at first I was confused I thought that I could pay $3.49 monthly (like a spotify or netflix hing)for the next 3 years. He explained to me very politely and understeandly. I appreciated that. I was then a little uneasy because I have been on sites that offer lifetime vpn for low amounts of bitccoin. He stated your superior security statistic (props by the way) and that the account being used for these illegimate site likely use the same password for everything. Email from nord explaining my subscription was due soon, tried to cancel via the links and instructions they supplied, didn’t work, tried explaining and chatting to them today, they can’t/won’t help. Cancelled my future renewal on Apple today, but I’m out £79.00 now, these people make it deliberately difficult/almost impossible to cancel a subscription very poor unprofessional

Just found out that my Nord subscription was duplicated on two subsequent days. It was just noticed and I was told that the refund policy period had been passed and I was enrolled for the next 5+ years. I got nowhere with a chat to customer service and was told that it was my fault. I considered that an insult to my intelligence to enroll in the same 3 Year plan on two subsequent days.
I thought better of the company and would caution others to determine if they really need any VPN service if doing legitimate work on the internet.

I’ll rate this VPN 8-9/10.
I’ve now been a customer for a year. I’ve talked to a couple of supporters for several reasons. The customer support is absolutely great! Recently I’ve talked to “Sandra” and “Kevin” who both was very helpful about payment.
Before that I also had questions about NordVPN for Linux. I’ve never experienced that they couldn’t solve the problem, even if it takes them some time to talk with their co-workers to figure it out.

The supporters can’t know everything about everything and all technicalities, but they are a great team and I haven’t once been disappointed with their support.

Their FAQ could be better. Some support sites are laying deep deep inside if they’re even available for “the public” without a direct link. I’ve been giving links that ain’t possible to find through their website. But they’re there and the support will give it to you.

The speed and stability is awesome. I’ve been using other VPN providers for years, but price and amazing customer service, many servers, stable and fast connections. NordVPN is a #1st.

I do have a problem tho with their marketing strategy. Sometimes there are 1 month, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years plans. Other times there are only 1 month, 1 year, 3 years.

The thing is, that when they make a 3 years “deal” then they adjust the 1 year to be 50%+ more in price than “usual” making the 3 years deal look more attractive.
Their service as such may be transparent, but their “deals” and prices ain’t- I got 50% down in price by contacting their support telling them that it wasn’t ok that the day before the price was a loooooot cheaper than it is now for a 1 year plan.
Their pricing AIN’T transparent and they go for 3 years plans often. You can many times every months a count down that “buy now only xx hours left”.
It’s totally cheating people.
When I contacted them about this, they asked me what deal I had seen…. So either they’re targeting people with different “deals” or they just don’t know/remember what deal they had less than 24 hours before.

It’s a huge distrust! Instead of $83.88 I got it for $48.

But! Besides their questionable way to make deals and that their prices can change so drastically, then it is without any doubt the best VPN provider I’ve had yet.
Netflix works. Every streaming service works.

Oh yeah, one thing. I now have the VPN on my DD-WRT router. 5 times I’ve experienced that the VPN server ain’t responsive anymore and i’ll have to login to my router and change to a new server. So even when I say they have stability this has to be taken into consideration too. But it might be something about the country I use. It’s annoying tho to suddenly be without VPNinternet and be forced to use unencrypted mobile data to go to their website, login and find a new server to use.

This might sound like a lot of negativity. It’s just something to be aware of. But that being said, other VPNproviders, I’ve tried, has he same issues (beside the pricing principles).

+ Speed (some hickups, but this is yet the one with the least)
+ WireGuard(NordLynx) for smartphones, Linux and Windows. (No router support yet, and nothing support has been told an estimate on)
+ Amazing!! Customer service!!!!!!!
+ Lots of servers all over the world
+ Stability
+ Browser plugins
+ Transparency and “no logging”
+ Cryptocurrency payment available
+ Signup can be anonymous
+ Multi platform (Linux version could be better tho, but has a lot of options! (tho some “hidden” / not documented)
+ Streaming services available (fx netflix)

– Pricing strategy
– A few server fallouts ((5 times out of 12 months. 3 the same month) country depended I guess) but not more than other VPN services I’ve tried.
– Pricing strategy again. (It’s just so dumb and robbing people at certain times with “fake” deals)

I will always recommend this to everyone who care about privacy and want superb support and simplicity! People who want a well renowned VPN service and that is available for all platforms!

I just need to say, be aware of their “deals”. Their 3 years deal is good. Yes it is. But if you only want 1 year or maybe 2, then wait until their 3 years deal is over.

This is as good as you can get it. There are many VPN providers out there. NordVPN shouldn’t be overlooked and I’m not sure they can be with all their payed advertisement and commercials. There are many reviews out there that is a “payed” advertisement. Nevertheless, this is in the top #3 VPN providers depending on your needs and cash.
There’s a #1 on privacy.
There’s a #1 on streaming.
There’s a #1 who try to do both. This is NordVPN.

The #1 on privacy don’t give you many servers and don’t care about streaming possibility.

The #1 on streaming have a no-logging policy as well, but is wayyy more expensive.

Was having a problem getting nordvpn installed in lubuntu, all my Certs were basically hosed for all the reps therefore sudo apt-get update was failing. Went to chat with a tech at the nordvpn site. I have been using NordVPN for a few years. Recently, the app stopped working on my computer, soon after I renewed and extended my subscription. I have spent hours on two separate occasions trying to regain functionality. I have deleted and reinstalled apps, I have downloaded app cleaners, I have changed settings and sent screen shots. It’s become a part-time job, trying to get this fixed. I requested a partial refund for the remaining years on my subscription and was told that I can not get one because my 30 day trial period expired. Beware of this issue. I will be taking a loss and moving on to a new VPN provider. Clearly, they are having an issue with the app. Customers shouldn’t be paying the price for it.

So many problems with Nord. Always have to prove I’m not a robot. Refuses to open a large number of websites. Unnecessary steps when trying to connect/disconnect, which I have to do to access sites that Nord won’t open! Computer running slow when Nord connected, partially resolved during last “live chat” session. Absolutely not a fan of Nord and would not recommend. Nord did respond to negative post on Facebook and suggested a point of contact but said post was removed, so lost the link!!

Average vpn and over priced, I was disappointed with the speeds, less than 24 hours after purchasing this I requested a refund, they sent a reply to try to convince to me keep the product but I declined as I have a better VPN service already, long story short the 30 day money back garuntee is a myth, you won’t get a refund. Avoid unless you enjoy disappointment and frustration at a customer service team who are extremely elusive unless it comes to helping you part with your money.

I have to admit I am at fault my review does not accurately reflect the service I received.
Having recently been stung by 5 or 6 bad products and struggled to return and refund all of them I had a very short tolerance, for anything else.
Nord wasnt the right vpn for me that much hasn’t changed but they did refund my purchase, so that’s the main thing.
This von has some cool features like the ability to select specific cities and places.
It’s worth a try atleast, it’s a shame they have bo free trial, a 500 mb trial would be enough to show people what they are getting without risking anyone abusing it by repeating the process.

I have used various VPNs but stopped after finding NordVPN and have used them for at least 3 years now. I do a lot of traveling in Asia and Europe and this works really well. I had to use their support function for help a couple of times when installing on different devices or because I messed up something and they are SUPER quick in responding and very helpful. Very disappointed with the lack of warning concerning the sending of emails and accessing websites to make alterations etc at the time of taking out my subscription. For reasons directly connected with the Covid restrictions I did not need to access my website or send emails from my laptop for some time. When I then tried to access the site and send emails I was unable to do so. I spent hours researching the problem with my ISP, Microsoft and the Internet in general – all to no avail. Because I could send emails on my phone and desktop I did not give it a thought that Nordvpn could be the culprit. However when disconnecting the service on my laptop, the problem was cured – outside the 30 day period for refunds. The Company promptly answered my queries and suggested ways to rectify the problem by changing the servers – again, nothing worked. I have been refused a refund but for me the product is not fit for purpose. Why can’t the company explain the possible difficulties with emails etc at the time of purchase? By doing so I would have identified my problem very quickly within the 30-day window for refund.

Since getting the NordVPN app, I have had nothing but problems, affecting my Internet connection and emails! I was with ExpressVPN but changed to Nord when my subscription expired, because of the price! Worse move ever! Even though I still have nearly 3 yrs subscription left with Nord.. I used NordVPN previously for 2 years and their customer service is honestly one of the best I have ever experienced.

I did end up using the “30 day return” when I renewed because I want to try another service but they absolutely stand by their promise!

Check them out, just make sure to test the speed, I am in Iceland and their speed drop is pretty bad but if you live somewhere else other than the middle of the Atlantic it’s probably blazing fast.

As I mentioned before banks do not debit and credit accounts with no hard copy ref # proof to refer back to in case of fraud occurring between one party and another whose accounts they have serviced thereby absolving the bank of any wrong doing

And the hard copy ref number proof of both transaction are where ?

So a multi million dollar off shore IRS tax avoiding business such as NORDPRO cannot provide written hard copy verification of  a financial transaction that they claimed to have occurred but have no proof of .
Good thing you are offshore with record keeping like that

As far as I am concerned until I get hard copy verification of your alleged excuses you just CHEATED me out of my money and like I stated in the original post (REFER TO BUYER BEWARE post below) if you need to Cheat me out of $100 you are welcome to it God Bless

However, as mentioned the payment made on 2020-02-16 has been flagged as fraudulent, therefore the full amount was reversed back to your account within a few days from the purchase date.

However due to an error in our systems your account remained active, and only recently was this error found and resolved. The payment information was updated only after the decision to issue a partial refund was made.

That being said, the funds have been transferred back to your account from the beginning of the subscription.

Since the funds have been transferred back not long after the original charge occurred, the refund may have been processed as a reversal. This means that the original charge has dropped off the bank statement altogether as if it never occurred, and the bank account balance has adjusted to credit that money back without a specific line item on the statement

The BBC page has not been working for properly for the past week, always showing the bbc.com interface. Sometimes I can watch iplayer, but often it says I am not in the UK. I have reinstalled, tried different servers, etc., and still the same problem. Until then, although it is not very user-friendly compared to some other VPNs I’ve used, it was working fine and speed is almost unaffected. If they can sort it out, I’ll stay, otherwise I’ll go.
The reply from NordVPN is useful, and quick, so I’ll give them a chance to sort it out. I should also add that the app on my phone works really well.

saw all of the great reviews so purchased the 3 yr plan. However, it has been two months now I it is absolutely unusable!!!! Normally it is just slow as hell but today when I got the latest update, when I connect to the vpn my browser loses all internet access. This is a waist of money, I’m running windows 10 with all the latest patches and this Dell came with McAfee which I am not that happy with and want Bitdefender back .. soon.
UPDATE: I removed McAfee and NVPN is working much better. normal vpn slowness but it is usable as long as the page requests don’t time out. I will try with my banking and pay sites and see how it works which is the real need.

Started out great at the beginning but as time passed their service became bad, their customer support was good, later turned bad and just felt like they were trying to get rid of your concern. Their desktop client is the main problem for me, it was full of bugs, many disconnections, and I was actually able to login my account on the desktop client with any password imaginable, I was literally typing gibberish and it logged me in, of course I informed them of the situation and I even gave them a recording of the incident and they didn’t reply again. Overall I would’ve rated them 4 stars in 2018 but I can’t recommend them at this time

Now i know a vpn review is pretty subjective. ive been with nordvpn for almost 3 years. in that time i have seen many updates accross mulitple platforms. in that time i have had nothing but struggle. i decided to use nord vpn not for the speed, there were many reviews that said iut was poor, but for security. it was rated the most secure at the time i purchased my plan. but my god, i should i have followed the adive of people people saying the servgice is slow.
no matter what device i use, pc, laptop, phone. no matter the browser, chrome, safari, mazilla, edge. im met with nothing but struggle. im pretty much always either on wifi or ethernet, not much 4g. my download speed at home rarly drops below 28mbs. but once im connected to any server im lucky if i can even load a web[[age let alone run a speed test. its the worst thing i ever could have spent monmey on, why

why did i purchase a 3 year deal. becvause it was 1. a good price, but i chose this vpn over other because of how many people in the bussiness where reconmending it., but now i know that was clearly just a f*ing con, with fake reviews paid for by nordvpn. the desktop app hasnt changhed much since i puirchased the service, its a siumple UI which makes it easy for you to disable so you can access the internet. the mobile app however. iots gone through multiple changes. from poor to good to uselesss. if you have auto connect on, like a normal person. when you are trying to disconnect to find a server that lets you use the internet. you can judst select diconnect anymore, you have to open the open unselect auto connect and then manually disconnect and reconnect to servers trying to find one that works.
this vpn may be rexcellent for security, but not allowing users to connect to the internet should not be classed a being sure. thats being lazy, too lazy tio great secure connections. that you have to fake it by dis allowing users to connect.
i could go on forver about how bad my experience is wioth this vpn.
buit long story short.
connection speed it terrible/ you dont actually connect to a usable server.
if you want a secure connection you will probabbly never get one. you can spend 20mins connecting and disconnecting from servesrs and still get no where,
i do not reconmend this company.

I purchased the Nord Vpn service for a specific purpose which it is no longer able to provide. I troubleshooted and worked with customer service who have confirmed they cannot resolve the issue. I understand it cannot be resolved however I purchased the service for 3 years upfront and was only 1 year in and requested a partial refund which was denied and am now being ignored. Great vpn service, I was able to watch iPlayer content. Unfortunately had some problem regarding the subscription. Apparently Apple’s subscription service and NordVPN didn’t play along well in my case. But Leo from the customer service helped me. I wasn’t really satisfied of the problem solution, but what’s done is done. If you wanna use NordVPN, just subscribe right from the website instead from the Apple’s in-app purchase.

Initially, NordVPN was working great. After about a week of good response, now web pages will not load or it takes several attempts to get a web page to load. When I disconnect from NordVPN, my response is excellent, enable NordVPN again and the response is horrid. REALLY, REALLY, regret getting the three year plan as it is basically useless now. It is certainly protecting me… I cannot get anywhere.

I have no clue why it worked so well the first week or so and then is AT BEST miserably slow. I have kept up with the updates sent by NordVPN but still just bad bad bad.

I have no explanation for the dismal performance.

I came back to Nord as it generally works pretty wrll but I have 1 issue that I would appreciate an explanation on. My service on testing provides 85 – 100.5 mb/secs. but after connecting your vpn it sometimes drops as much as 90 mbps to 10 or even less. Is there something can change in settings to resolve this?

Purchased NordVPN as a first time trying a VPN service, I paid and was told to active my account via and email i would receive in the next 5 minutes. I downloaded the software and waited for the email.

I waited for an hour but nothing, i went through the process of recovering my account which NordVPN explain how to do and managed to get onto my account but it was not activated.

I waited a day but still had no email. I contacted NORDVPN support who informed me it would take 7 working days for my payment to process. nowhere was this mentioned before or after purchasing which left me feeling a little ripped off or at least uninformed before purchasing.

The Support staff member i spoke to was very helpful and polite and even offered to jump start my subscription, if i could send a screenshot of my bank account showing the purchase (which i could not do due to data protection functions on my android device).

I instead asked for a refund/cancellation of my subscription as i have found a VPN that has more information before purchasing, more payment options and starts on the day of purchase, all of which is explained before purchasing, not after going through troubleshooting tips, recovery methods and contacting support teams directly which was my experience with NordPVN.

Would i recommend NordVPN?
Well for a first time trying a VPN, i didn’t actually get to use any of their VPN services.
The support staff member was helpful, polite and extremely fast at responding, i didn’t wait in a queue at all which is remarkable as we are in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic.
But the lack of information before purchase, jumping through hoops to recover my account and contacting support was a massive waste of time.

In all honesty, the 5 star review is for someone named “BENECROFT”, who was the second tech support person I chatted with. The first one created more havoc than they solved, and my computer was stuck in a loop that even a hard reset didn’t clear. I eventually got connected with Benecroft, and he patiently walked me through whatever it took (stuff that was way over my head) to get the issue resolved, as well as some testing to confirm that everything was working right before we ended the session. THIS is how tech support is supposed to work, and Benecroft deserves a raise.

Unfortunately I had some problems so it didn’t really work for me and what I needed it for, but their customer service team (Robert, and then Leo) were brilliant, were really friendly and helped me try and fix the issue, and then processed my refund immediately when asked. If I need to get a VPN again in future I would definitely consider Nord again.

I took a long time to configure this with my Synology NAS.
My reservation is the Tech Support. It is a mix of email Tickets and online Chats and is risible. The assistants invariably have to re-familiarise themselves with the case and the user is required to repeat many actions. The process is iterative, nebulous and extremely slow. This is hugely compounded when the user is required to endure the same hateful system with the manufacturer of the NAS (Synology). The assistants are willing enough, but they are in an impossible position. I wish I could think of a tech company that offered telephone help, but I can’t.

Doesnt work on netflix, amazon prime, bet365 or bbc iplayer. If you are looking for a VPN to match bet or access websites from different countries then look elsewhere. I also find myself having to complete the “are you a robot checks” on google and a couple other websites which is frustrating as hell. One more peeve is that i can’t chrome cast when the VPN is on, imagine i can probably fix this if i bothered. All that being said i pay £3 quid a month for it so yeh…. you get what you pay for.

I’ve been using a competitor for many years and was very happy.
But then I needed a static VPN for work purposes which the previous company didn’t supply, so I moved to NordVPN.
The connection is generally alright, but problems definitely occur more often, and some destinations are really slow.
My biggest problem though is the really long time it takes to disconnect/connect to the VPN. It can take a minute, which is a really annoying when I have to do it quite often when i switch the project I am working on.

Very disappointing.
Using NordVPN results in me not being able to access about 50% of websites I try to visit, including sites like YouTube. I get an error that the site is not available. Disconnecting VPN allows me to access immediately.

Solution from NordVPN customer ‘service’ (and I use the term very loosely) is to remove any firewalls and virus software. Which does reduce the problem but doesn’t fix it entirely. Ironically, if I was connected to VPN during my chat session with NordVPN, the messages did not get through. Switching off VPN and the chat works fine.

Regardless, this means I can EITHER use my VPN or have virus protection but not both. Not a great ‘solution’.
Given this makes my subscription virtually useless I asked for a refund of the subscription. No, your 30 day period has finished, there are no refunds or cancellations.

Totally useless. A VPN should not only protect your privacy for a few hours. It should guarantee that you privacy is ALWAYS protected without compromising your work. It is acceptable that communication would be a bit slower, or that you would experienced some minor drawbacks since, at the other end of the link, you are not seen as yourself but as some other entity, determined by the IP address that is used by the VPN server to replace yours. For example, this IP address might have been blacklisted, depending upon what the previous users have done from it. These are understandable and acceptable drawbacks.

But you must also be sure that if the VPN falls down, your communication will not be exposed. For this, you need what is called a kill switch. A kill switch is something that will kill the communicating application if the VPN falls. NordVPN doesn’t offer that, but it offers the possibility to render all communications impossible if the VPN falls. So far so good.

But what happens when you suspend or hibernate your computer? Of course, the VPN can’t continue to work, and the communication is lost. As a result, when you resume, you do not have access to internet, because all is blocked by the kill switch. NordVPN will not automatically reconnect. In fact, it will display a message saying it is reconnected, but it is not. Manually restarting the nordvpn daemon might restore the connection… or not. Most often, you will have to reboot your computer.

This is not acceptable. Even more, googling the problem shows that it has been around for years. And NordVPN support team have absolutely no solution for this. Given that the computer will often be configured to automatically suspend in case of inactivity (to save power), it makes this VPN absolutely unusable.

EDIT following NordVPN answer:

The last answer from NordVPN suggested uninstalling and reinstalling NorVPN, which I did. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t change anything. As I searched internet for a solution, I realized that many users had the same problem for quite some time, without any solution provided. This confirmed that there is no solution known by NordVPN support. So, I decided that continuing to receive useless suggestions was, well, useless. I will try to find a solution by myself. It might or not include finding another VPN provider. This is sad because other than this problem, It seems to work very well. At this time, the solution is to reboot the computer, which makes the service useless.

The variety of the offerings is very good and the cost of the service is very affordable. Sometimes it there are problems in that the stream locks up and it is necessary to re-start a program or change to a different server. This is very frustrating and it is not due to my internet service which has a download Speed of 200mbps.

NordVPN ripped me off. It took the whole first “free” month to get it to work on my system. Then it worked for a day or 2 and stopped. I communicated constantly by chat and email trying to get it to work. Everything they suggested worked for a day or 2 then stopped. It went on for so long that they started recycling their suggestions, and I was starting to get the same emails they sent in the beginning.
When I asked for a refund, I was reminded that my one month free trial had expired. Yes, it had, but as I said, I got about 2 days of service in that month.
Friends had recommended NordVPN because it is what their company uses, so they went to bat on my behalf and complained. It didn’t work.
NordVPN has my money, they have no motivation to provide their service. (I might add that I spent HOURS with their reps — hours which were no skin off their noses b/c the employees were being paid for that time with my money; but for me it was valuable time when I could have been doing many other things).

This company is really shady. They were hacked and only told their users a very long time later. Their service starts out fast and over time becomes mediocre I bought a 3 year plan and after 30 days you cant request a refund. Also they spend too much money on advertisement instead of their product. Paying people that have zero knowledge on the product. Between other shady things.

Was billed an extra time and then told by a team member that my renewal would be 11/25/21. I recently got a notification for an upcoming charge in June 2020. The team member said they can’t do anything about.

Overall I’m very disappointed in their service (I worked in customer service for 4 years, and don’t believe the customer rep put any effort towards looking into my issue).

Also reached out to their chat service, who started to ‘look into’ my issue and then simply left the chat upon my question about how to handle the billing. AVOID!!!

We had a credit card skimmed & used in another country to open a NORDVPN service.

Upon investigation we discovered that NORDVPN had accepted the skimmed details without properly verifying the bona fides of the account holder.

This credit card is one we rarely use unless absolutely necessary so we discovered it very quickly, but NORDVPN have proven to be very poor as they have, in effect, aided the fraudster by accepting partial details & not verifying with us.

We will NEVER use NORDVPN based on their poor attitude toward customer service.

My brother has been recommending NordVPN to me for over a year now, and after watching a friend go through having her identity stolen online, I finally decided to act. I had some concerns with my antivirus software and whether it was going to be affected by NordVPN. I started a chat with Hunter from NordVPN and he not only assured me that there wasn’t going to be any conflict, but he also sent me a link to a tutorial on what adjustments to make with my antivirus software if I had any issues. I felt confident enough after our chat, and also after reviewing NordVPN’s cancellation policy, to go ahead and sign up for a year’s service. After one day I have had no issues and I am quite pleased with the entire experience. I’m about to start traveling for work again and between NordVPN and my antivirus software, I feel like I’ve done everything I could to keep my information safe.

NordVPN Doesn’t Work in Canada for Amazon Prime Video !!

I live in Canada and I subscribe to NordVPN for the sole purpose of accessing US programs in Amazon Prime Video. Things went well until three months ago when Amazon cut off my access to the US site.
I contacted NordVPN by email and chat line. They kept asking me to do this and that (clear cache, use incognito mode, use certain US servers, change Windows 10 setting, etc.) for three months and each time the result was the same – no access to the US site. Finally I received this message in my email from them today:
“Seems like Amazon has recently changed it’s policies to only allow access the streams to the accounts registered in the same region.

Having said that, this is not the case with all of the streaming services, as for example, Netflix does not lock the content based on the billing information of the account.

Also, please note, that NordVPN is first and foremost an internet security company and therefore the access to various geo-blocked content could not be guaranteed throughout the subscription time.”

That’s stating the obvious, isn’t it? The purpose of VPN is to bypass detection. Obviously this is happening to all their Canadian clients. Why didn’t they tell us in the beginning?

It works. Requires installation of their own application to manage VPN connections. Circumvents regional content restrictions like a charm. I do enjoy having this vpn but it is shocking the amount of times i have had to change my password as it suddenly will tell me my password is wrong even though it is not. Also there seems to be updates every 2 or so days. So annoying in both cases. Looking elsewhere now

Using Windows10 Desktop, Australia.

For me it’s a good price (I’m 15mths into 3-year plan), good speed (Australia), only 8% speed drop (48Mbps down to 44Mbps for local Australian server).

HOWEVER: they use shared IP addresses and so spammers and other bad-actors are using the same IP as you and so Google searches often require doing a ‘Captcha’ as a result of “unusual activity” from your IP address. This is solved by switching servers (usually changes the IP address) – an easier & seamless task now with the new ‘NordLynx’ protocol activated. Unfortunately I don’t think NordVPN can stop the bad actors (as they wouldn’t know what users are doing obviously), but they can do something about shared IP addresses. This is a cost-saving measure that comes with a cheaper VPN (IP addresses are in short supply worldwide).

Bottom line: fast connections, stable, low cost, but comes with compromises on the IP addresses.

Honestly the best VPN service I’ve used to date. Had some issues with it in the beginning over a year ago, but it was quickly finished. I also had a feature request for them, and it took just about 2 months before a completely new feature was added to the service and it works flawlessly.

Some of the servers have some connection issues every now and again, but that’s to be expected. And when it happens, switching to a new server in the same country is just a couple of clicks away.

I strongly recommend NordVPN for any and all VPN needs.
